Your invitation to World Heritage Community Day

Free event

Presented by the Coalition of Residents’ Associations in the City of Melbourne and Fitzroy in collaboration with Museum Victoria

On 9 May 1901, the Royal Exhibition Building hosted the opening of the first Federal Parliament. No other public building could accommodate such a large group of people, as 12,000 people were invited and the organisers were eager to make the occasion spectacular and memorable. Come during the day to see stories and creations of local primary school students. Book for the public forum on Federation, Democracy and the Royal Exhibition Building and take a tour of the building.
